Summary & Thoughts
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
It’s okay. It’s not bad. It’s not good. It’s an entertaining RomCom and I like that they are both authors. But the sex scenes were boring, and I didn’t care about the dad backstory one bit. She could have just inherited a house and moved there to sort through things.I did like that they both put a twist on the ending. He pulled a JG (one of my former classmates) and killed the finally happy couple just when they leave the cult compound to start their life. She gives hope after the sad ending.
January moves to her father’s second house—the one he used with his secret girlfriend. There she meets her college rival / crush Gus. They challenge each other to switch genre, and she writes literary fiction while he tries himself at a RomCom. They go through the typical arguments and gestures, and he proposes a year later.
