In this Environment 101 segment, I explain what ecosystems are, how they differ from biomes, and how humans affect them. It’s an introduction to the topic to give everyone the basic knowledge.

I studied Marine Ecology at the University of Hamburg, Germany, so a lot of this is knowledge from hours of research and sitting through lecture after lecture. Going through the lecture slides from school involved a lot of fact checking, as a lot of what we learn is pretty outdated. So, all semester, I googled things to death, read research papers and articles, ask a million questions, and discuss topics with friends.
