Summary & Thoughts
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Arthur is in NYC for a summer internship and walks into a cute boy at the post office. Ben, the cute boy, has just broken up with his first real boyfriend. They get separated, but find each other. They do over their first until they feel perfect. They argue, because Ben hasn’t told Arthur his ex is with him at summer school, but they reunite after Ben’s best friend has a hospital scare. They break up instead of trying long-term when Arthur returns to Georgia, but it doesn’t feel like it’s over.
Cute YA romance story. There’s no giant surprises, except that you don’t get the happy ending. But I guess that’s Adam Silvera for you. Happy-ish endings. The writing is excellent, too, but the voices don’t separate as well, as I’d like them to, despite Arthur’s babbling and ADHD and Ben’s more quiet demeanor.
